My first regular posts on this blog started just 12 weeks ago. I’m actually pretty excited about my progress. My goal from the beginning was to learn as much as possible about blogging, while sharing about online and mobile marketing.
Results to Date
As an online & mobile marketer I live in a world of numbers. So it’ll be the same here.
Right now I’m evaluating this blog on:
- Ranking in Google for specific keywords
- Traffic to the blog
- Number of new followers to my RSS feed and Twitter accounts
Ranking
I’ve been shocked by how some of my posts have done so far in ranking. I’ve simply tried to follow what I’ve learned through BlogSuccess and it appears to be working! Here is how I rank for a couple of phrases.
Keyword Phrase: “Top Mobile Ad Networks”
Below you can see that as of today I rank #1 amongst 48,300,000 websites.

Keyword Phrase: “How to do Keyword Research”
I’m currently ranked #15 for this phrase out of 54,500,000 websites.

Keyword Phrase: “Keyword Research Resources”
This is perhaps the ranking I’m most excited about because:
I was ranked 2nd out of 64,500,000 websites 5 hours after I published the post!

Traffic
I’ve had a total of 1,430 visitors and am currently averaging 31 visitors a day. I’ve currently got 200 RSS subscribers and 126 Twitter followers.
What I’ve Learned
Here are a few things I’ve learned in the past 12 weeks:
- Doing it Right is Hard – putting up a blog is a TON OF WORK!
- Keyword Research is Key - bloggers need to understand keyword research
- Mentors Abound – there are many great blogging resources
I’m not ready to quit my day job with these results, but am definitely convinced that a combination of quality content and marketing tactics work when it comes to blogging.

Congratulations Brook! It’s always exciting to see the fruits of your labor multiply into success. Wish you more of the same! ~NS
Nate…thanks for stopping by!
My name says it all. Keyword research and analysis is tremendously important to your content creation. If you’re targeting the wrong keywords, you’ll fail. It’s that simple.
Nice work, Brook!
Using a keyword tactic right in your comment, putting the keyword phrase as your name. Nice work back at ya.
