Budda-Bing.com Budda-Boom?

by Brook Lenox on June 26, 2009

Ever wonder what the term “Budda-Bing, Budda-Boom” means?  I believe it’s an expression used to suggest that something can be done “just like that” or “quick, easy”.

I am an online marketer and have spend a lot of time on search engine marketing (SEM).  I was very curious to see how the new search engine Bing from Microsoft was going to do at launch.

Day 1

Here is what I saw on day 1 when I tried to use Bing. I typed in “Brook Lenox” to see how I’d show up in Bing. Yikes! Not a great first impression. My search was clearly not “just like that”. Clearly a “Budda-Bing, Budda-Bomb”!

Day 3

I think it was day 3 or 4 that I decided to go back and try Bing again. As before, my first search was for “Brook Lenox”.  I was happy to see the issue fixed.

Here is what I got:

Bing will have an uphill battle against Google, but at least now it doesn’t appear to be broken. Good luck Microsoft.

Anyone else have anything interesting to say about Bing?
